On the official website, students can find out how to apply to this university. SASTRA University was founded in 1984 in Thanjavur, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. One of the main goals of SASTRA University Distance Education is to help students with their schoolwork. SASTRA has been helping people learn from afar since 2002 At Present, the University Grant Commission (UGC) DEB does not approve the distance learning courses at SASTRA University. SASTRA University offers admission to the regular/online programs for the academic session 2023-24. Students will apply at the official portal of the University. The SASTRA University offers programs in astrology, creative arts, and education. A diploma in astrology, a B.Ed, a BA in astrology, and an MFA in dance and music, among other alternatives, are available to applicants.

Admission to SASTRA is either based on the scores obtained by the students in their last qualifying degree or exam or is entrance-based. Interested candidates can apply online on their official portal or you can submit the application form offline as well with your hard copy of documents. For this, you can follow the steps for offline submission. -Read all the instructions prior to filling out the form. -Fill the form in neat and clean writing. -Stay up to date with the college updates. -Contact the person in charge in case of any confusion. For the online application form, you can follow these steps:
Step 1- Register on the official website.
Step 2- Log in and fill out the application form.
Step 3- Upload the required documents such as scanned photos and signatures.
Step 4- Pay the fee submit the application and get the printout for the further process.

No. Admission will be based only on merit after the rank list is released. Only NRI-sponsored students can approach the Office of Admissions for more admission information.
If an applicant has not appeared for JEE (Main), for Stream 1, the weighted score for the 50% will be 0 but the +2 aggregate will be given 50% weightage to arrive at the combined score. However, for the Stream 2, the weightage for +2 marks will be 100%. This way, an applicant will be considered in Stream 1 & Stream 2 by default.
All the examinations, assessments, and quizzes are conducted in a fully online mode by the SASTRA online university.
Admissions will be done by the Office of Admissions of SASTRA, either in a Stream 1 or 2 basis. Do not fall prey to any unauthorized persons/agencies who claim proximity to the SASTRA admissions office. Admissions are based only on merit and only tuition fees will have to be paid. No donations or capitation fee.
There are hostels for boys and girls. First year B. Tech. students will be provided shared accommodation. The charges for food will be at actual based on dividing system and will approximately be around Rs 4,000 per month. You can assume that you will stay for 10 months in a calendar year. Single room, Two-in-one, Three- in-one and Four-in-one (with or w/o bath attached facilities) will be available from second year onwards. The annual rent will vary depending on the room type beginning with an annual rent of Rs. 14,000 upto Rs. 28,000.
