Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), popularly known as MG University is a renowned government University located in Kerala. MG University is ARIIA and NAAC accredited with a Grade A. MG University obtained 31st rank in the Universities category by NIRF in 2023. The University consists of 23 University Departments, 2 International and Inter-University Centre, 7 Inter University Centres, 10 Inter School Centres, 77 Govt./Aided Affiliated Colleges, 10 Autonomous Colleges (of which 8 are Colleges with a Potential for Excellence), 200 Unaided Affiliated Colleges and 199 Recognized Research Centres. MG University also offers various programs through Distance/ Online mode.
G University UG, PG, and Doctoral programs in the disciplines of Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Management, etc. Admission to UG programs is based on the merit of the candidates in the qualifying exam. For UG and PG courses conducted in the MG University Affiliated Colleges, admissions are based on the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). Admissions to the PG program offered by the MG University Departments/Schools are based on the Common Admission Test (CAT). MG University offers admission to MBA courses on the basis of MAT/CAT/CMAT/KMAT scores followed by GD and PI. Admission to the Ph.D. course is based on qualifying examination merit, Written Aptitude Test (WAT), and Interview.

Step 1- Visit the official admission portal: https://admission.mgu.ac.in/. Then, Click on the “Apply Now” option given under the “Common Admission Test” Option. Now, click on the “Apply Online” Option.
Step 2- Register yourself using valid details. Now, Login using your credentials.
Step 3- Fill out the application form and Pay the Application Fees. Then, Submit the form and take the printout for future use.
Step 4- Appear for the MGU CAT exam. and Admission will be provided based on the rank list prepared based on CAT scores.
Online Manipal University conducts exams in the online mode that are remotely proctored through their enhanced digital learning platform.
No, the application process for MG University admissions can only be completed online through the official website of the University.
If a candidate possesses valid scores in UGC NET/CSIR NET/ GATE examination, He/ She will be exempted from the Written Aptitude test. However, to be admitted to the MG University Ph.D. program, they will be required to appear for the Interview.
Placement opportunities are good in this college. There are various companies coming to college and selecting students if they are capable enough, for which they have to go through a test or interview or both.
Candidates can apply for admission to the Ph.D. program after qualifying UGC NET JRF Exam; the application form will be available on the official website of MGU. Selected candidates will be called for Group Discussions and Interviews.
There is a residential hostel facility inside the campus for both boys and girls; all students admitted to the hostel have to stay in the hostel concerned, also mess facilities are available inside the hostel.
