GJUST admission to B.Tech course is based on the JEE Main score. Candidates who have secured marks equal to the qualifying JEE Main cutoff are eligible for admission to the GJUST BTech course and Admission to B.Tech course will also be based on Haryana State Technical Education Society Department of Technical Education (HSTES) Counselling. The university will consider the merit of the candidates followed by counselling for granting admission to BTech course.

GJUST admission to BA (Hons) course is based on an entrance exam conducted by the university. The university will announce the entrance test result on the official website of the university. After the release of the result, GJUST releases a merit list announcing the names of shortlisted candidates. Further, a counselling round is conducted for document verification and final selection. The candidates will be required to present herself/ himself before the Counseling Board/ Admission Committee of respective department and mark her/ his presence and then she/ he will need to produce all original certificates for verification and checking of eligibility for the programmes for which she/ he is eligible.

GJUST also conducts an entrance test for candidates who have not appeared for CAT exam. GJUST Entrance Test comprises 100 questions of one mark each.
