Under the aegis of the Birla Academy of Art & Culture and supported by the Birla Group of Companies, Birla Institute of Management Technology (also known as BIMTECH) came into existence in 1988 and is located in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It is ranked 44 under the ‘Management’ category by the NIRF 2021. It also ranked 3 among the ‘Top Private B-Schools of North India’ by the Business Today-MDRA 2021. It is accredited with ‘A+’ Grade by the NAAC. It has several accreditations and recognitions from eminent bodies, including the NBA, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Life Office Management Association (LOMA), and Business School of Impact System (BSIS). The institute is approved by the AICTE and is a member of the AIU. BIMTECH also facilitates student exchange programmes in various countries such as Austria, Australia, Poland, Finland, and France among others. BIMTECH has a great network of more than 6,600 alumni who organize several events around the year such as the annual alumni meet, story-telling sessions, and webinars, among others.

PGDM program provides opportunities for students to undertake specializations in functional areas of Marketing, Finance & Banking, Human Resources, and Operations & Decision Science while in the PGDM (International Business) program, only Marketing, Finance and Banking, Operations & Decision Science are offered. In both programs, Business Vertical specializations like IT/ITes, BFSI, and Business Analytics are also offered. Similarly, In the PGDM (IBM) program, students are given exposure to all the relevant inputs related to important functional domains, be it, Life Insurance, General Insurance, Health Insurance, and InsurTech while in the PGDM (RM) program, Visual Merchandising, Franchise Management, and Analytical skills with respect to Retail Service Operations are covered.
BIMTECH is now an AACSB accredited institute – that joins an Ivy League of top globally recognized B-schools. The US-based accrediting body i.e. Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) Accreditation is considered to be a Gold standard in management education. All four courses are approved by the regulatory authority AICTE and accredited by the highest national accreditation body, the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). These are also approved by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for MBA equivalence.
MBA & PGDM are both Post Graduate Courses in Management. In India, only universities, be it central/state/or private, are authorized to conduct MBA courses. The autonomous institutions approved by AICTE offer PGDM. From the point of employability, there is no differentiation. PGDM courses are normally found much more flexible and hence close to the industry/recruiter’s need.
